With this new venture, he now helms a fantastic bar and kitchen team, led by the restaurant’s co-owners his son Bart and, daughter Esther.

From Haarlemmerplein (tram 5) it’s a 9-minute walk via Planciusstraat and Barentzplein to Houtmankade 9.

From Noord / NDSM (where there is ample parking), take the ferry to Ponsteiger. Walk straight ahead for one minute, then cross the bridge to the left, and you’ll see Bistro Van Houten on the opposite corner, facing the waterfront.

From Central Station, it’s a 20-minute walk along the IJ via Van Diemenstraat to Houtmankade. Just before the big bridge, you’ll find Bistro Van Houten on your left.
Alternatively, you can take bus number 48 from Central Station towards Sloterdijk and get off at the Barentszplein stop.
